  Customer Review: Office Mac 2008 Not Worth Its Cost in Packaging
  Microsoft’s Mac unit did Mac users an injustice with Office 2008, bringing the package down to the functionality of Apple’s iWork ‘08. Stripping VBA and the data analysis toolpak out of Excel is inexcusable, but it’s even worse. Many of the Upgrades Microsoft made from Office XP to Office 2003, let alone Office 2007 are not included (e.g., right indent in Excel). Word and PowerPoint also seem more like Office XP as well. Sure formatting palettes are nice, but that’s just repacking functionality, not improving it.

  As bad as the stripped down Office 2008 is, it gets worse. PPT, Word, and Excel crash so often on my new Leopard MacBook Pro, that I use iWork for most of my work and switch to the Windows version of Excel via VMWare Fusion when tasks demand them. I would suggest staying with Mac 2004 until Microsoft does an upgrade to the Office Suite that does more than change its packaging.

  Customer Review: Waste of money and time!
  This is probably the worst soccer instructional DVD that I’ve ever seen (and I’ve watched quite a few). More time is spent on David talking about David than on instruction. Content is light and production is glitzy and distracting.
  Customer Review: HIghly polished waste of time
  Beckham is one of the great soccer players of today and I was really looking forward to his hints on how to do things, especially since this is a 2 DVD package. I was most interested in the “banana kick” which is how most people call the kick that bends the ball around say an opposing “wall.” Not here. Almost nothing is here except a lot of special effects, and “extras” like some shots of the face of the Great One looking worried as he gets ready to do a penalty kick. There is a little 20 minutes or so of a game of the Great One vs a bunch of young kids but nothing to learn there. The only saving grace of this is the points on “first touch” which are pretty good. There are a very few pointers for beginners on how to get past an opponent but nothing any 9 year old can’t figure out for him/herself. So much sizzle, so little steak!

  Customer Review: Brilliant introduction for 5 year old
  My five year old son has been really struggling at soccer, even though he is a fast runner and very co-ordinated he was just wandering around the field looking lost. So I spent three months looking for a good kids Soccer DVD to teach him. This was the third we had tried and it is brilliant!! He watched it six tims in the first two days. He had his first post-DVD soccer game yesterday and the difference was astounding. He excitedly jumped out of the car for the first time, dribbled the ball perfectly from the car to his time for the first time, line up with his team and kicked his first goal and started jumping up and down with excitment. He was very pleased with himself and the first thing he asked for this morning was, “Mum, can I please watch the soccer movie again?”.

  Actually, checked this out from the library several years ago. My daughter who has turned into a reasonably good soccer player (not necessarily thanks to this video, but…) really liked this video at the age of 7-8 years and actually remembers it. It is a basic resource that will hold their attention and can be the basis for a conversation on what they should be doing on the field. It is not comprehensive, but a good start for young kids in playing fundementals.
