Design
With a total weight of 5.1 ounces and slim measurements of 3.87 x 2.91 x 0.87 inches (WxHxD), the n?vi 350 is just right for the pocket or purse. A bright, 64,000-color display dominates the front of the device and a resolution of 320 x 240 pixels means that there’s plenty of room for displaying map data and other elements of the device’s interface. An SD memory card slot is provided for expansion software, such as a points of interest database, media files and electronic guides (see below). The flip-up antenna includes an MCX-type connector for connecting the unit to an external GPS antenna. Meanwhile, a powerful built-in speaker resides on the back of device. A built-in lithium ion battery will give you for to eight hours of battery life, depending on use. In addition to an AC charger, the unit also ships with a 12-volt power adapter for vehicle charging, as well as a windshield suction cup mount.

Fortunately, Garmin has made it easy to interface with the n?vi 350’s 700 megabytes of onboard memory, thanks to “plug-and-play” USB mass storage support. Just plug the device into your computer’s USB port and you’ve got instantaneous access to all the audio books, music, photos, supplemental maps and other data on the n?vi 350’s internal and SD card memory.

Navigation
The n?vi 350 is first and foremost a personal GPS device. Wherever you go — in your car or on foot– the device offers extremely accurate position data, thanks to a high-sensitivity integrated GPS receiver by SiRF and WAAS-enabled, 12-satellite reception. Combined with detailed maps of the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico the n?vi 350 provides automatic routing, turn-by-turn voice directions, and touchscreen control– making it easy to find your way anywhere. Plus, the unique “text-to-speech” feature calls out turns by street name, and you can choose from either 2D or 3D mapping perspectives when you’re viewing your route on the display. Additionally, the n?vi 350 is compatible with Garmin’s GTM 10 FM TMC traffic receiver*, which allows users to avoid traffic tie-ups by simply pushing a button that will calculate a new route.

As mentioned, the n?vi 350 comes packed with mapping data for North America, but you can can also load up your custom points of interest. Set up proximity alerts for school zones, safety cameras, and more using Garmin’s free POI (points of interest) loader program (available from garmin.com).

Important note about map updates: Due to our high volume of sales, almost every Garmin portable GPS navigator sold by Amazon.com will come with the most recent map version. If you ever do need a map update, you can purchase one from Amazon.com at our Garmin Store.

The device automatically calculates the fastest route and provides voice-prompted turn-by-turn directions along the way.

Tools for the Journey
Navigation is just part of the journey, and the n?vi 350 is one of the first devices to recognize that. The built-in “Travel Kit” offers an MP3 player, an audio book player from Audible.com, a jpeg-format picture viewer, a world travel clock with time zones, a currency converter, a measurement converter, and a calculator.

In addition to the included travel tools, additional software add-ons are available, such as the Garmin Language Guide, with data provided by Oxford University Press. This software suite contains a multilingual word bank, phrase bank, and five bilingual dictionaries. The multilingual word bank and phrase bank supports nine languages and dialects, including American English, British English, French, German, Italian, Brazilian Portuguese, European Portuguese, European Spanish, and Latin American Spanish. Now you can look up and translate more than 17,000 words or 20,000 phrases per language — right in the palm of your hand. Through the unit’s text-to-speech interface, users can get a spoken pronunciation of each entry in the word bank, along with gender and part of speech information.

Another useful add-on software package, the Garmin Travel Guide, is loaded with information provided by Marco Polo. These guides put in-depth travel information such as reviews and recommendations for restaurants, tourist attractions, and more at your fingertips. The software allows you to navigate to an address or search points of interest– places like hotels, restaurants, shopping, and tourist attractions. The n?vi 350 automatically calculates the fastest route and provides voice-prompted turn-by-turn directions along the way. The unit also audibly announces the name of upcoming streets– letting you keep your eyes on the road while navigating through busy traffic and tricky roadways. And if you stray off course, the n?vi 350 automatically calculates the quickest way to get back on track.

*Traffic services available only in select cities where RDS-TMC coverage exists. Requires the GTM 10 FM TMC traffic receiver and subscription fee to enable traffic capability.

Customer Review: Best Money I ever spent
I bought myself the Garmin Nuvi 350 In December. I have to say this tiny little thing is absolutly amazing. It brings you door to door. It tells you the exits & whether they are on the right or left. I gives you the names of the streets you have to turn on. You follow a purple line Then when its time to turn it shows a white line. The little vehicle on the screen is exactly were you are, It’s fool proof. If you miss an exit it recalculates imediatly and brings you back. I live in Brooklyn, we had to get to Yankee stadium. Instead of putting in the adress I put in the cross streets that we had to park at. It brough me right there. My brother whos been to Yankee stadium so many times, was at the wrong parking lot!!! He called me to give him directions on how to get to where I was!!! So i went and bought him one for his birthday. If you have kids and there complaining they are STARVING all you have to do is go to food and pick fast food, It takes you to the nearest mcdonalds or what ever it is they want, Nomore stoping to ask for directions when your lost. and ladies, we all know what a drag it is to have to get the kids out of the car to go into a gas station in the middle of a bunch of truckers resting. It brings you to gas stations, ATMs, food, parks, Definitly recommended for anyone to own. its easy & its small enough to carry in your pocketbook.

Customer Review: Outstanding device
This is my second one. I paid ~$450 a bit over a year ago when I bought one for my wife. This second one is for me and Amazon had it for only $252! The text-to-speech is invaluable and one of the main reasons I bought this same model again.

The Miracle Match
In the spirit of REMEMBER THE TITANS, MIRACLE, and THE ROOKIE, THE MIRACLE MATCH is the incredible story about the men behind one of the all-time greatest upsets in sports history. Two weeks before the 1950 World Cup, a ragtag group of recreational soccer players from St. Louis and New York were chosen to represent the USA in Brazil. Consumed with conflicts — personal, cultural, and playing styles — they had mere days to become a team. And then they had to play the British, the best team in the world. Inspired by a newfound belief in the team, their passion and talent turned into pure magic on the field — and the unthinkable happened. Filled with heart-stopping action, and featuring Patrick Stewart, this triumphant story is a rousing celebration of the human spirit, love of the sport, and pride of country.

Customer Review: The Miracle Match
…”The Miracle Match” is another Gerard Butler film that i purchased in order to get a closer look at this amazing actor’s theatrical range–i was quite please…very credible acting on all who participated in this film–i just couldnt get into the actor that played Patrick Stewart’s part as a younger man…but other than that, the performances were natural and a compliment to the men being portrayed…and although there were other “big name” actors in this film, everyone is on the same page in making the viewer believe this larger than life piece of sport history…there wasnt a whole lot of unnecessary “lets just focus on this one or that one”, just a simple formula of how a group of friends beat the odds of being labled not good enough…and that my friend, was good enough for me…
Customer Review: World Cup Saga
As a Brazilian I was surprised and delighted with the film. In countries that have a strong football (soccer) tradition and world cup participation, the stories and the successes of their national teams in that championship are ingrained in the national psychic and are the stuff of legend. Aside the many documentary films, movies about world cup stories are rare (although some have the world cup as part of the background, like the new brazilian film “Quando meus pais sairam de f?rias”, which depicts the political repression of the military regime and the 1970 World Cup). To my knowledge there are only two, both with the word miracle and set in the 1950’s. The Miracle Match depicts the U.S miracle in the 1950 World Cup and Das Wunder Von Bern (The Miracle of Bern) the german one in the 1954 World Cup. The german film made in 2004 is far superior to the american one and also displays a rare glimpse of post WWII german life and hardship. For me the american film was a complete surprise (americans making an epic film about a word cup event!). Of course the event of the famous and humiliating defeat of the English Team at the hands of the U.S soccer team was already know to me. The fact is that the english generaly think that they are better than they really are, they make a fuss about themselves, and while respected and sometimes feared, they rarely match the 4 greats (Brazil, Germany, Italy and Argentina). The 1950 match against the U.S was the eye opener and from there, with the exeption of 1966, it was, as the London Times once put it, one “glorious” failure after another. Although the match took place in Belo Horizonte (which by the way is not a “mining town” as described in a review, but the capital of the state of Minas Gerais, which during the 17th’century and up to the middle of the 18th’ century, was an important gold mining region) the scenes in brazil are filmed in Rio de Janeiro. The stadion used to film the match itself, is the stadion of the Fluminense Football Club, possibly one of the oldest in Brazil, built in the beggining of the 20th’century (it is funny to see in the film apartment buildings next to the stadion that were only built 10-20 years after the event). The huge Maracana stadion was built specially for the 1950 World Cup and was the scene of the final match of that championship. As an aside; if ever a brazilian director decides to make a film like this one, as far as drama is concerned, the best choice would be this 1950 Word Cup, but instead of miracle the word to be used would be trauma or shock. As far as brazilian teams go, the 1950 one was great, alongside the world champions of 1958 and 1970, together with the other defeated one of 1982, and superior to the world champions of 1962, 1994 and 2002. The loss of the final match to Uruguai in front of 200,000 spectators, for much of the same reasons that England lost to the U.S, ranks as the worst sport disaster in the history of Brazil.

Bend It Like Beckham (Widescreen Edition)
Sometimes, to follow your dreams…you’ve go to bend the rules! Audiences and critics alike are cheering wildly for this “exhilarating…terrific comedy” (Entertainment Weekly) about a young girl who is torn between adhering to family traditions and attaining super-stardom on the soccer field. Hailed as the year’s must-see crowd pleaser that “makes you feel good and laugh out loud” (Chicago Sun-Times), “Bend It Like Beckham” scores! (Time Magazine)

Customer Review: Love it!
I bought this DVD because I couldn’t finish watching the movie on TV, and I was very curious. I had really liked the about 30 min. I actually watched, so I decided to give it a shot (and the good reviews helped a great deal!). I was not disappointed, this movie is very entertaining. Even though I read a review that says that it gives the wrong message (about lying to your parents, which of course isn’t good), I think it approaches that touchy subject in a very natural way… who hasn’t lied to their parents sometime? It doesn’t, in my opinion, try to deliver the message that it’s ok, it just portraits an adolescent’s point of view, how they sometimes have to struggle (if they live in a foreign country and come from a very rigorous culture, like in this case). And the message that it actually delivers, again in my opinion, is that you should always do what you love if you want to be happy. That doesn’t mean you have to lie, but fight for your dreams. All in all this is a highly entertaining movie, great for all ages. It’s very colorful too, and we get a glimpse of Indian culture and traditions. Obviously we westerners think some of them are far off, but for them, it’s what they are! It also makes us aware of the importance of tolerance and open mindedness. I’m sure you’ll enjoy it… I did! I highly recommend it!
Customer Review: “Go Far To Where?” ~ Navigating The Cultural Divide On And Off The Football Field
Synopsis: The feel good, girl power movie of `03 definitely has to be `Bend It Like Beckham’ a tale of East meets West on an English football field. Parminder Nagra is terrific as Jess, the Indian girl who loves to play football (soccer) and dreams of being able to bend it like her idol Beckham. Despite her parents wishes she joins a girls team at the insistence of her new friend Juliet (Keira Knightley). Determined to break free from the cultural expectations placed on her by her family, Jess now has the opportunity to prove how good a player she is and realize her dream. The possibilities are endless for those who dare to reach for the stars. As her relationship with her coach (Jonathan Rhys Meyers) deepens she may have found even more than she had initially anticipated. Critique: While `Bend It Like Beckham’ will appeal primarily to a female audience I think it’s something that can be enjoyed by all if given a chance. Parminder and Keira are adorable and the action upbeat. I also enjoyed the soundtrack which like the film is a cultural smorgasbord, blending western pop tunes with traditional Indian music.

Home Movies - Season One
Home Movies: Season One is a television treasure that almost wasn’t. After five episodes in 1999, the bright and sometimes brilliant animated satire was yanked from UPN’s schedule and was rescued by Cartoon Network’s late-evening “Adult Swim” programming, where it thrived for a few more seasons. Created by Loren Bouchard and Brendon Small (who provides the autobiographical voice of the show’s 8-year-old hero, Brendon Small), Home Movies concerns the angst-ridden adventures of a fatherless boy who can’t quite handle typical childhood challenges (school, sports) but, in his stumbling way, is advancing toward his dream of becoming a filmmaker and actor. With a manner and voice suggesting a cross between David Spade and Woody Allen, Brendon struggles–sometimes with sardonic wit, sometimes with heartbreaking candor–to protect his shaky sense of personal security while also trying to be taken seriously as an artist.

Brendon lives with his single mom, Paula (wonderfully played by Paula Poundstone until episode 6, when she was replaced by the equally effective Janine Ditullio), whose own neuroses peak during some very funny moments. Among these is a school meeting that finds her removing her sweater and spouting a string of obscenities, a writing class that ends repeatedly in make-out sessions with a nameless slinger of sexy doggerel, and a disastrous date with Brendon’s soccer coach, a hefty bully and all-around loser, John McGuirk (H. Jon Benjamin). McGuirk is Brendon’s foil throughout the series, a drunk with rage problems and dubious ethics who often leans on the young hero as a confidante when he isn’t making the poor kid run extra laps. The show’s dialogue comes fast, biting, and painfully honest, characters frequently talk at the same time, and some of the best material is in the short dramas that Brendon tapes with friends Melissa (Melissa Bardin Galsky) and Jason (also H. Jon Benjamin). Home Movies is not to be missed by anyone who enjoys urbane comedy, animated or otherwise. –Tom Keogh

Customer Review: Yes!!!
Just casually stepped into this show because of the high ratings. Yes it looks kinda stupid from the artwork. Don’t let that deter you. It’s packed with humor and heart. It’s filled with wonderful improv acting yet fun-to-follow storylines.
Customer Review: Exellent DVD!
This is one of the best shows on television! Don`t listen to those people who say “this is not a kid`s show” though it is inappropriate for some kids. If you like The Simpsons you will love this!
