Enchanted (Widescreen Edition)

Enchanted (Widescreen Edition)
Life is idyllic in the fairytale world where conflict is minimal and breaking into song solves every problem, but what happens when a princess from the fairy world gets magically transported into the real world? Enchanted begins in the animated fairytale world of Andalasia where Princess Giselle (Amy Adams) is destined to marry Prince Edward (James Marsden) and live happily ever after. Problem is, Edward’s step-mother Queen Narissa (Susan Sarandon) doesn’t want to give up the throne and will do anything to get Giselle out of Edward’s life. Queen Narissa’s solution is to push Giselle into a well that magically lands Giselle smack in the middle of the real world–the center of Time Square in New York City, to be exact. This launches the live-action portion of the film where Giselle immediately realizes that things are frighteningly different in this new world and that she is ill-prepared for the callous ways of the people who inhabit it. Giselle finds herself alone on a stormy night in the wrong end of town, but a chance encounter with Robert (Patrick Dempsey) and his princess-loving daughter Morgan (Rachel Covey) leads to a warm, safe place to spend the night and the beginnings of a complicated, yet compelling relationship. As Giselle begins to question the fairy-tale truths she’s always inherently believed, Robert’s outlook on life and love also begins to change significantly. Parallels to the classic Disney fairytales, Cinderella, Snow White and Sleeping Beauty abound in the form of a King’s and Queen’s ball, small animals and rodents who clean house when called, the threat of poisoned apples, characters impulsively breaking into song, and the power of the kiss of true love and the absurd juxtaposition of fairytale idealism and stark reality is hilariously funny. Features music by Alan Menken and Stephen Schwartz of Pocahontas and The Hunchback of Notre Dame fame, Wicked’s Broadway Elpheba Idina Menzel as Nancy, and even a brief appearance by former Princess voice talent Judy Kuhn (Pocahontas). Enchanted is one of the best, most entertaining Disney films of the year. (Ages 6 and older with parental guidance due to some scary images and mild innuendo) –Tami Horiuchi

Customer Review: Great for kids and adults!
I took my 2 yr old and 4 yr old to the theatre to see this and it was the very first movie they ever saw in a theatre. They laughed the entire time and I thuroughly enjoyed it myself. We bought a copy of this 2 days ago and they have watched it 3 more times.

Customer Review: Reminiscent of Old Classics
Over done and corney maybe-but clean good natured wholesome fun for the whole family-definately. My almost 3 year old daughter loved it as well as her 5 year old brother. Even my husband enjoyed the humor!

For me the best part was the power of the lost art of ‘the look’ to communicate emotions. Forget make out sessions-the living room anger scene, and the ballroom scene were the best love scenes I’ve watched in a long time. Every bit as powerful as “You complete me!” which we will all remember forever. Excellent acting, music, directing etc.-perfect to convey those emotions without words or the common make-out trends of today!

Customer Review: This movie will stay with you
‘Bella’ is one of the best movies I have ever seen. Very well written and tightly edited, it tenderly examines the lives of two wounded souls and proves that love can conquer even the most difficult circumstances. Very uplifting and very real, you will find yourself connecting to the characters and their stories. They will stay with you long after the closing credits roll. ‘Bella’ is a must own movie because you will want to watch it again and again.
Customer Review: Can’t wait to buy it!
I thought the acting was fantastic! Good story. Good characters. Good morals/values overall. The family scene at dinner was wonderful - very realistic, in my experience. In fact, the whole movie was realistic, along with being uplifting. I loved the positive way the family of the main character (Eduardo Verastegui) was portrayed. They weren’t “dysfunctional”. They actually liked each other and had fun together! As mentioned in another review, the movie is a bit shakey in the beginning, which I didn’t like, but not enough to rate the movie lower than 4.9 stars. Also, I initially thought the girl in the beginning of the movie was the same little girl as from the main character’s past - which didn’t make sense, of course - because both girls looked alike and had similar hairdo’s. But again, it’s forgivable. We took several of our children to see the movie (having seen it by myself first). Our 9 year old liked it, although I don’t know how much she understood. The 12 and 14 year olds definitely got it and liked it. I will let them watch it again. However - the main female character IS pregnant, out of wedlock, with no father of the baby in the picture - AND - they do show a scene with her going to an abortion clinic (nothing graphic) - which may bring up some touchy subjects, so be forewarned. If you aren’t ready to discuss it with your children, you may want to wait for them to see it. Looking forward to having it in my collection!

Customer Review: FL soccer mom
Wonderful shoe! My 4 year old loves them! It is so hard to find peewee cletes and these are up to the usual adidas quality! I am already planning on getting another pair for fall soccer since I’m sure these will not fit by fall! Great find and great shoe!
Customer Review: Perfect for the Price
I found these shoes to be true to size. Like many cleats they are a bit narrow which is not an issue for us but is something to think about for the child you are buying for. At all of our local chain stores in our small town there was nothing close to this quality for the price. In fact, all the generic brands were over twenty dollars. Since the shoes are made out of man made materials, they do cause sweaty feet but I can not justify spending over fifty dollars for shoes that will only fit for one season.

Customer Review: Dare to Dream
Inspirational DVD. First bought it for my young granddaughter. As she opened it, my 85 years young mother expressed an interest in the story. Sent her the DVD as well. Apparently it was perfect timing as my mother was dispirited as a result of the death of her sole mate and husband of many years. Boosted her spirits and reminded her of her own sense of adventure and love of life. Highly recommend the DVD. Play soccer like a girl!!!!
