Leatherman packs the full-size Skeletool with the tools you’re likely to use most often. |
Introducing the Brand New Skeletool CX from Leatherman
Get back to basics — the very cool basics — with Leatherman’s Skeletool CX. Today’s outdoor enthusiasts want to keep weight and volume to a minimum without sacrificing quality and true functionality, and that’s what the Skeletool is all about. Many multitools have multiple options, but they’re often heavier — and they’re loaded with more features than most people actually need on a regular basis. Conversely, pocket knives are light and streamlined, but they render themselves useless when the task calls for a more versatile tool. Enter the new Skeletool platform, offering minimal weight, compact size and endless capabilities.
Key User Features
The Skeletool CX has a large knife blade that can be accessed while the tool is closed; to open it, just place your thumb in the thumbhole at the base of the blade and rotate it out until it’s fully extended — which will engage the safety lock. This locking mechanism is noted with a padlock symbol on the tool. To unlock the blade, press the locking mechanism towards the handle until the blade slides past the lock.
Equipped with a universal bit driver, the Skeletool offers real utility options like no other multitool. To change the tool bits, simply unfold the tool and remove the bit from the bit driver — and pop it out. And replacing bits is just as easy. Just press a new one into position and you’re good to go. There’s even a spare bit located in the handle side opposite the knife blade. This tool includes the following bits: Phillips #1 and #2, screwdriver 3/16-inch and 1/4-inch.
In the plier jaws you’ll find a hard-wire cutter and a regular wire cutter. The regular wire cutter is great for softer grades of wire, but the hard-wire cutter is excellent for heavier jobs — like cutting and bending fishhooks.
Multitool Capabilities:
The Skeletool keeps it simple — and light, and compact, and easy to transport. Why waste time with pointless, heavy add-ons when all the basics are right at your fingertips? With its open hardware, skeletal design and hardy appearance, the Skeletool boasts a premium stainless steel blade, pliers, a universal bit driver, and a carabiner/bottle opener … and that’s it.

The Leatherman Tool Group and its History of Quality
In 1975, Leatherman Tool Group founder Tim Leatherman was inspired by leaky pipes and a cranky car on a budget trip to Europe — and thus the idea for his first pocket survival tool was conceived. Since then, Leatherman has become an internationally recognized company with hundreds of employees and a wide variety of durable, versatile, stylish products. Created with bold designs and truly rugged construction, Leatherman products are a perfect addition for tool kits, emergency sets, and glove compartments everywhere.
Customer Review: a horrible buying experience, followed by a disappointing product.
Caveat, emptor! I placed my order on November 2, 2007 and finally received the product on March 24, 2008. Spend a moment with your calendar and allow that to fully sink in. When it finally arrived, I found that the product is poorly engineered bordering on defective. The screwdriver bits which are supposed to fit into the bit driver and the reserve pocket in the handle simply fall out and are lost. You are left with a pair of pliers and a knife, for which you paid a great deal and waited months to get. I wholeheartedly reverse-recommend this product. I would send it back to the factory for repair if I had any faith in the design or in the abyssmal customer service of the manufacturer. They would in all likelihood give me a replacement of equal quality, and make me wait for it a very long time, and that’s a problem. I wonder what happened to the Leatherman company. They used to be great, but not, it would seem, anymore. This product is good looking. That’s about all I can say for it. Fulfillment is lacking, quality is poor, and you’ll wait a very, very long time before it arrives and you find out you’re totally disappointed. Click elsewhere. And if you are asking yourself if I’m all wet, see the amazon forum below for detail. I was a true believer in Leatherman products for over a decade, but I will never buy from them again. I’m too disgusted even to deal with the ordeal of sending it back. If I had to guess, the Skeletool will occupy a spot in a little-used drawer until I have it in me to accept that my patience and good faith were for naught, my time and money and optimism wasted, and throw it in the trash. The Skeletool photo you’re salivating over is likely to be the only time you feel truly pleased with it. Right click the photo, hit Save As, and take your money elsewhere.
Customer Review: Very Pleased with Skeletool
I just recieved my skeletool after months of waiting (like many of you) and I believe that it was well worth the wait. It is evident that leatherman did indeed use the extra time to make sure that quality was up to par. The skeletool is wonderful. The design is stunning, the craftsmanship excellent, which is what has become expected from leatherman, and the knife seems very sharp and durable. Others have mentioned the knife being “stiff” and while it is a bit, I wouldn’t be upset if it never loosened up, I don’t believe that it is too bad and can still flip it open with one hand easily. The skeletool feels amazing in your hand, light but solid and sturdy. I can’t even tell when its hooked to my belt its so light. Oh and also, the bottle opener works wonderfully! I most certainly recommend it to others, despite the long waiting list and increasing price.

Howlin Wolf: The Chess Box
This is probably the best Wolf compilation there is in terms of comprehensiveness and digestibility. The problem with collecting the works of prolific artists is that there’s so much material; fortunately, Chess made some good selections. Chronicling Howlin’ Wolf’s career from Memphis, through Chicago, and on into his later years. There are snippets of interviews, as well as the classic tracks you’d expect: “All Night Boogie”, “Howlin’ For My Darling”, “Evil”, “Forty Four”, “Spoonful”, and “I’d Better Go Now.” This box set is a bit much to swallow if you’re not already a fan of the Wolf, but if you are, this is a great way to get his best work in one place. –Genevieve Williams

Customer Review: A very good set
Wolf along with Muddy were stablemates during Chess’s glory years, and this set shows why his reputation as one of the blues’ great masters is inviolable. The set begins in the early 50s with his first recordings for Philip’s Sun studios in Memphis, which are key to understanding his origins in Delta country blues, before switching to his various band formations at Chess through to the early 70s. There are many classics here, including “Evil,” “Sitting on Top of the World,” and “Smokestack Lightin’,” as well as lesser known gems and brief interviews. With partial exception of some lackluster liner notes, this set is necessary for any self-respecting fan of American folk music and blues.
Customer Review: He’s the Wolf
This is not a very tough choice, if you like Howlin’ Wolf or the blues get this box. It has not weak tracks, some fascinating interviews (well The Wolf talking), and many of the classic, indispensable tracks.Plus, there’s, as evidenced here, no other electric blues guitarist nearly as nasty, dirty, just downright awesome as Hubert Sumlin. Buy and enjoy, this is the blues at its best.
Brass Hookah Sisha 6″ Tall 2 Hoses
Brass Hookah Sisha 6″ Tall 2 Hoses-Most popular brass hookah in brass with black etching. Hookah is 6″ tall with 2 smoking hoses.
Customer Review: Meh
The hoses don’t fit comfortably in the holes. The hoses are of bad quality and get wet easily. It is difficult to pour water in because the brass top where the sisha goes does NOT come off. It is hard to determine how much water to put in since the body is not clear and cannot be removed. After two uses, the hookah started to leak, not from the hose holes but from the side! I must admit that the hookah surprisingly works and this hookah is cute and tiny.
Customer Review: Holy smokes - It works!
I own a mini hookah which has much smaller base than this one. It works fine and I’ve never had a problem with that one. When I received this Brass Hookah Shisha 6″ Tall with 2 Hoses, I hurried to try. To my surprise, I see a lot of good thick white smoke coming out of my mouth. (The other hookah doesn’t do that much even though I use the same shisha tobacco). Round charcoals fit perfectly right on the top and the hoses fit right in. I admit it, it’s not a full-size hookah but if you just enjoy smoking hookah and like small sizes, this one is for you. It’s very easy to set up and very portable.
